And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.1:20-23

On this day God changed the oceans from being void, empty to be teeming with sea life. He also created the fowl the birds that flew in the sky. At what stage the insects where made is not clear, but could be covered by the moving creature that hath life.

In contrast to evolutionary ideas which has sea creature originating from land creatures, God made the sea creatures first. Again, like the plants, we see and immense range of size, shape and colour in the marine kingdom and bird kingdom.  Many marine creatures have only been discovered in recent time due to the ingenuity of man, and it is thought only the surface has been scratched with what remains to be discovered. As the twenty-four elders sing,

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Rev. 4:11

So many things of God’s creation are hidden from our eyes, yet are seen by God and the angels.

Amongst the sea creatures would be the many creatures that are now extinct with their details consigned to the fossil record.  Again we note the emphasis which has stood the test of time, that they only bring forth after their kind, an important mechanism so that there is not chaos and confusion.
