A Christadelphian Video: Description: The history of the land known as Canaan in Abraham’s time, to the Kingdom of Israel in the BC times, takes on another ‘identity’ when the Romans expelled Israel from the land. Despite an attempt to eject Israel, God’s ultimate purpose with the land and people is clear. The speaker traces through the history of the land firstly known as Canaan in Abraham’s time, then the first phase of the Kingdom of Israel in the BC times, then to that phase of history when Israel was expelled from the land and it was named as Palestine during the occupation by a number of different nations and peoples, then to our modern history with the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, and the “burdensome stone” which Israel is to all nations, and then finishes with a presentation of God’s unchanging Word that He will give the land to Israel again, having saved them from the final attempt by enemies (the Gogian host) to exterminate the Jews altogether. The speaker discusses a number of Bible quotes – from Zechariah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah, to show the prophecies about Israel’s future, and to show God’s ultimate purpose with the land (e.g. Isaiah 2:3)
