Isaiah: Chapters 42-43 – Bible Study
#1 Description: Historically, the nation of Israel in their disobedience to God, were deaf, blind and hard of heart toward His prophets. However, God is working to save a remnant that will committed to his ways. Having been exiled and scattered into the world, Israel is returning under God’s direction to occupy their land forever.
#2 Description: God created Jacob and formed Israel, and as such this nation received His special attention. Because of their disobedience, Israel were scattered throughout the nations, and the way was opened for the Gentiles to be included in the purpose of God. Against all human expectation, Israel have returned and are a paramount nation today. As such they are a witness to the reality and power of their God, with greater manifestations of deliverance to come.
