AS RED herrings go, the debate over whether President Obama should tell us how he thinks we should vote in the EU referendum is positively scarlet.

Of course he has every right to tell us what he thinks. After all, as President of the US, Barack Obama is leader of the free world.
How bizarre would it be if he came to Britain and didn’t tell us what he thought about an issue of such importance? But the fact he can talk to us about the EU doesn’t mean anything more than that.
It most certainly doesn’t mean we should do what he says. It doesn’t even mean we should take any notice of what he has to say.
Because of all the post-war US presidents it is difficult to think of any other – with the exception, perhaps, of the truly awful Jimmy Carter – whose record lends less credence to his view of any foreign policy issue.
For all the hope and symbolism of his election in 2008, when President Obama leaves office next January he will bequeath a record that is one of almost uninterrupted uselessness.
In the Middle East, in Asia, in Africa – and, yes, in Europe – he has betrayed long-standing US allies, stood weak and passive in the face of aggression, kowtowed to dictators and seen the US’s standing diminished far below even the level left by his predecessor George W Bush.

You would have to be mad to take lessons in foreign policy from this of all US presidents. He tells us that our membership of the EU is vital to European and even world security.
This from the man who has reduced the world standing of the US to such a joke that President Putin knew he would be able to grab an entire section of Ukraine while the US – and, yes, the EU – simply stood by and watched.
If the stakes were not so serious it would be hilarious that he chooses as his best example of why we should remain in the EU our joint roles in agreeing the Iran deal: “When we negotiated the historic deal to verifiably prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, it was collective action, working together with the permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany, that got the job done. And the EU’s seat at the table magnified the United Kingdom’s voice.”
This is the deal that will come to be regarded as our generation’s Munich, lifting sanctions that were actually working in choking the Iranian regime’s ability to export terror.
The pair discussed the EU referendum at length over lunch
Instead of standing up to Iran, President Obama led the craven appeasement of the world’s leading sponsor of terror, leading a headlong dash to do business with a regime that executes political opponents and murders anyone who deviates from its definition of Islamic purity.
It is a deal that shames every signatory. If this is the best he can come up with to recommend a Remain vote, his visit should lead to a surge in support for Leave. And please don’t fall for the idea that President Obama’s views are based on what he thinks is best for Britain.
The clue is when he writes this: “You should be proud that the EU has helped spread British values and practices – democracy, the rule of law, open markets – across the continent and to its periphery. The European Union doesn’t moderate British influence – it magnifies it.”
Translated into reality, what this means is that the EU is so sclerotic, so backward looking and so corrupt that it needs British influence to keep it even remotely useful to the US as a partner.
President Obama means that we should remain a member to stop the EU from suffering the consequences of its own urges. Not exactly a winning argument, is it?
This news article highlights how politicians come and go and in some cases appear to achieve nothing that those who voted them thought they would. However what has happened during Barack Obama’s time is very much in line with Bible Prophecy and so it continues to highlight that fact that it does not matter what the politicians think or do, God has declared the End from the Beginning and the Bible (God’s Word) reveals that Britain will not be part of the EU when Christ Returns to Earth, and World Events are conspiring to ensure that happens.
What we will continue to witnessed here is as Daniel said in Daniel 4:17 “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will…”
WHY? Because Bible Prophecy (spoken more than 2,500yrs ago) has revealed to us the alignment of nations in the last days before Christ’s Return and Britain will not be part of the EU at that time.
Yes, despite all the politicising by the various parties and politicians, EVENTS both within Britain and Europe will keep pushing Britain in the direction of leaving the EU!
So yet again we see the hand of God at work in the nations to ensure that His purpose unfolds on the earth. Britain will leave the EU of this we can be certain as this is a matter of Bible Prophecy. In the Bible, God has long said (2,500 yrs ago to be exact) that Britain will not be a part of the European Union when Russia and the EU invade the Middle East.
