We explore one of the inspired digressions of the genealogy of Judah. Jabez is introduced as a man who prays for God’s blessing and receives it. In recent years, the false teaching of the “prosperity gospel” emptied his prayer of its true significance. We will identify what he prayed for and why God answered him. The spiritual significance of “enlarging my coast” encourage brothers and sisters today to appreciate the spirit of Jabez’s prayerful and confident faith. “We reaffirm our wholehearted acceptance of the wholly inspired Scriptures and in the first principles of the One Faith as defined in the BASF.
