Study #3: A @Christadelphians Video: n answering the question ‘How does Israel turn?’, this study concentrates on the work of Elijah whose role is to “turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers” (Malachi 4:6). The study first looks at the work to be done in the land to prepare the Jews to meet their Messiah – helping them accept they are sinners who need to put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who will come to save them. The study helps to see why John the Baptist was not Elijah, but John’s work was a type of what Elijah will do. Finally, the study briefly looks at the work of bringing those Jews, who are still scattered around the world, back to the land promised to their fathers. This journey is seen as an exodus, like the journey they took when they left Egypt with Moses. Leaving their modern homelands, they will journey through the wilderness of the people and come to the land of Israel. The benefit to the Gentiles is tremendous, all nations share in the blessings of the kingdom of Israel being restored. The study points out a fundamental principle in the Bible: “the just shall live by faith”. The work that goes on with the Jews will be to open up God’s word to turn them to the wisdom (faith) of their forefathers. “the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.” Romans 10:11-12
