God also promised a descendant of David would build a house for God’s name and occupy the throne of the Kingdom for ever. This promise defines the seed as both the son of David and Son of God who died for the sins of men. The hope implied in this binding covenant made to David is resurrection from the dead for David himself and all who hear the Gospel.
