The Truth About the Apostle Paul

A new series of short presentations entitled ‘The Truth About the Apostle Paul’
It is often suggested by skeptics that Paul invented the Gospel, and that Christianity comes from Paul and not from Jesus. Some even suggest that Paul invented the whole of Christianity. However, this claim flies in the face of the facts. All the evidence we have indicates that the Gospel, the message of the New Testament, was shared by all the Apostles and originates with the teaching of Jesus. Certainly Christianity existed before Paul became a Christian. According to his own words (1 Corinthians 15:9) Paul persecuted the Church of God. This, of course, means that the church must already have existed, or Paul would have had nothing to persecute! It is also clear that there are writings in the New Testament which are independent of Paul – the Gospel of John for example or the letters of Peter. However, these teach a Gospel which is completely compatible with that in the letters of Paul.
